There are only two ways you can create value. You can find out what people want and work out a really clever way to supply it or you can work out what you can supply and find a really clever way to make people want it. We tend to spend 90% of our efforts looking at the first kind. The biggest gains come from the second approach.
The power of human reason has evolved, not to help us make decisions but to defend decisions, justify decisions and argue a case. Just because something is reasonable doesn’t mean it is right. Just because something is unreasonable doesn’t mean that it is actually wrong.
We tend to seek a single optimal answer supported by rational thinking and backed by evidence of success. Everything that isn’t that answer is wrong. In many cases, the opposite of a good idea is another good idea. You won’t find innovation in conventional logic because if there are logical solutions to a problem someone would already have found it.
This blog is where I share how and where to create value, see things from an unusual perspective, have a fresh thought on regular things. Do dive in. Hope you enjoy what you read.
